ABOUT RICHMOND FIRST

The Richmond First founders shared a common vision of creating an organization that would inform the public and political leaders about a broad range of civic issues, policies and solutions. The spirit of enlightened activism that initially inspired the formation of the organization in 1919 lives on in our regular review of and involvement in current issues in the Richmond metropolitan area. During its over 100-year history, the organization has provided nonpartisan leadership on many issues critical to the quality of governance in the region. Through its many efforts Richmond First promotes responsible citizenship and good governance.

What Our Members Say

Joining Richmond First Club has been one of the most intriguing decisions of my public service life. Each luncheon offers meaningful dialogue and insights from people shaping our community’s future. The speakers are outstanding, but it’s the members—thoughtful, wise, deeply experienced, humble, and genuinely committed to progress and care for our city — that make the experience so valuable.
